Suppliers Code of Conduct
Legal and Ethical Compliance:
Smuuv Body, subsidiaries and affiliate entities require all its suppliers to adhere to local laws and regulations, maintaining the highest ethical standards and refraining from bribery, corruption, or any unethical practices. Additionally, all suppliers must comply with environmental legislation, support our environmental objectives, and actively contribute to achieving our environmental goals. We aim to implement an annual Impact tracker by 2026 to monitor energy consumption. Chemical emissions must be tracked across the supply chain, and proper documentation of chemical disposal is mandatory.
Labour Practices - Anti Child Labour:
Smuuv Body strictly prohibits the recruitment or employment of child labour. No children under the age of 15, or the stipulated higher age as per local laws, shall be recruited or employed. Furthermore, individuals under the age of 18 shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions. Our policies align with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards, ensuring no forced, bonded, or involuntary prison labour. Workers' freedom to leave their employer after reasonable notice is guaranteed, and they are not required to lodge deposits or identity papers upon employment.
Labour Practices - Hours of Work and Regular Employment:
Our suppliers must maintain accurate attendance, payroll, and production records. Overtime work should be voluntary, with employees entitled to at least one rest day every seven days. Overtime compensation should be provided at a premium rate. Compliance with ILO guidelines and national laws is mandatory. Termination conditions must be transparent and in accordance with established company practices and local laws.
Employee Representation:
Smuuv Body respects the rights of employees to join or form associations of their choice, such as workers' councils, unions, or workers' associations. Where local laws restrict these rights, employers must facilitate the development of alternative means for independent and free association. Representatives should not face discrimination and must have access to carry out their representative functions in the workplace.
No Discrimination:
Smuuv Body prohibits discrimination in hiring, compensation, training access, promotion, termination, or retirement based on various factors, including race, nationality, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, union, or political membership.
Wages and Benefits of Employment:
Wages and benefits provided by suppliers must meet at least the minimum legal requirements or industry benchmark standards, whichever is higher. Wages should cover basic needs and provide discretionary income. Workers must receive clear and understandable information about their employment conditions and wages before commencement of employment, along with wage slips for each pay period.
Discipline:
Any form of employee abuse, intimidation, whether physical, sexual, or verbal, is strictly prohibited.
Health and Safety:
Smuuv Body requires suppliers to provide a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment, considering industry-specific hazards. Measures must be in place to prevent accidents and injuries, with regular and recorded health and safety training for workers. Clean toilet facilities and drinking water should be accessible to all workers, and provided accommodations must be safe, clean, and meet basic needs. A designated senior manager should serve as the Health and Safety representative.
Whistleblowing:
Suppliers must establish internal mechanisms for reporting, investigating, and remedying any workplace wrongdoing. Whistleblowers should be protected from any detrimental treatment as a result of raising genuine concerns.
Anti-Slavery and Trafficking:
All Smuuv Body suppliers must comply with our Anti-Slavery and Trafficking Policy, which aims to prevent modern slavery in both our business and supply chains.
Product Quality and Safety:
Quality Assurance
All Suppliers must deliver products meeting agreed-upon quality standards and specifications provided by Smuuv Body.
